This is not to be confused with the museum in Paris, which is the Louvre. Dash vents are sometimes called dash louvers, because louver is a fancy word for shutter. This is useful if you have a passenger who’s always too hot or too cold when you’ve got the temperature set right to your sweet spot. The dash vents usually contain window shutter-like slats that can be opened or closed depending on how much air you have blowing on you. They direct the air wherever you want to help keep you nice and comfortable. These include all the interior vents in the dashboard that blow air onto you and your front seat passengers, as well as the vent below the windshield for defrosting. The dash vents are the last stop for air that flows through your heating and A/C system. What are dash vents and where are they located?
